Upon the growing demand from established and new customers, FBGS is proud to announce the launch of a new frontier in FBG production based on Femtosecond Laser inscription technology, which complements its existing core manufacturing technology of Draw Tower Gratings (DTG®s). The inscribed FSG® sensors will maintain the reputable high mechanical-strength of a DTG® and will provide new capabilities demanded by sensing system designers for unfulfilled configurations of the grating and fiber parameters, coating features and operating conditions.

Inscription of FBGS’s FSG®s is based on using ultrafast laser pulses and specially-configured optics to write through the fiber coating to produce standard, as well as customized sensors. This will extend the OEM product offerings and lead to new OEM sensing solutions in the Energy, Oil & Gas, Process industry and other demanding markets requiring point sensors or distributed sensor chains.
