FBGS will be exhibiting at the Sensor & Test event in Nürnberg, Germany on May 10th until May 12th, 2016. Sensor & Test is one of the leading fairs within the test and measurement industry, which will be hosting over 500 exhibitors in the Nürnberg Messe spread over 3 exhibition halls. More information about the measurement fair can be found on www.sensor-test.de.
FBGS will present different and new demonstrations showing the unique capabilities of its Draw Tower Grating (DTG®) technology, as well as introduction of several next-generation fiber optic sensing technologies. These recent developments include the combination of Polarization Maintaining (PM) fiber and DTG® technology enabling strain-independent and multiplexed temperature sensing with unprecedented temperature sensitivity and measurement accuracy, while avoiding the need for strain compensation techniques.
For one of the demonstration, a curved 2m long cold-bent glass-bridge structure (see picture below) with integrated optical fiber sensor network will be displayed. The stress from cold bending remains in the glass, monitoring solutions for the short- and long term behavior of such curved and planar glass laminates are therefore necessary. This unique piece of engineering exploits the unobtrusive character of FBG-based technology, which enables embedded measurements allowing the display of real-time strain and weight distributions. All optical fiber sensors and interrogator (measurement device) equipment are based on FBGS’ product portfolio. This demonstrator was jointly developed by the Institut für Tragkonstruktionen und Konstruktives Entwerfen (Universität Stuttgart), Industry and Research Partners BGT, GuS, INGLAS, Technische Universität Dresden, and FBGS.
Please visit us at the Sensor & Test event in Hall 1, Stand 540. Feel free to contact us directly through info@fbgs.com if you would like to receive an official inviation to the event and/or to pre-schedule a meeting with one of our attending staff members during one of the exhibition days.
We look forward to seeing you at our booth in Nürnberg!
