FBGS Technologies GmbH, parent company of FBG International NV, announced on July 10 2015 that its Board of Directors and the majority shareholders of FBGS have chosen Dr. Eric Lindner as the organization’s next Chief Executive Officer as of August 1, 2015.

“During the past 4 years, FBGS underwent a tremendous change from a small and project-oriented company to a professional and internationally well-known supplier of high-quality fiber optic sensors. Now, it is time to bring the company to the next level with a variety of interesting business opportunities. The board is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Eric Lindner as the new CEO of FBGS, as he has been responsible for a great portion of our success over the years. With his competence in FBGS core technology, his business acumen and strategic agility, we are convinced that he has the ability to inspire the team, customers, and business partners with the company vision.” said Stephan Beier (Chairman of the Board of FBGS).

“I’m honored, and grateful to the Board and the shareholders for the opportunity to lead this highly innovative organization of creative, dedicated, and talented people. We are in a phase of high growth with many interesting and promising business opportunities. As we produce innovative, state-of-the-art products for numerous sensing applications in different markets, the company is transforming into a major player in the fiber sensing optics industry. This is a terrific opportunity that any leader would welcome.” said Lindner.

Dr. Lindner, 32, holds a Diplom (MSc) in Physics from the University Jena (Germany). He completed his doctoral thesis (Dr.rer.nat) in “High Temperature Stable Fiber Bragg Gratings” at the Leibniz Institute of Photonics Technology (IPHT) in Jena. During that time, he was also involved in advance research at the University of Sydney (Australia). He joined FBGS in 2008, and has held various leadership positions within the organization. Lindner has been instrumental in driving new developments for the next generation of fiber optic sensing systems.

“We want to express our sincere thanks to the former CEO, Hugo Mertens for his tremendous effort in building up the FBGS organization and look forward to a continuous good cooperation, as he will remain associated with the firm as a consultant.“ said Beier.
