FBGS joint the German Pavilion on the Medtec China 2019 exhibition in the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center introducing the latest fiber optic sensing developments to the medical market. The German Pavilion was very well received by the audience and key people from a broad range of medical companies have shown great interest in the sensing opportunities offered by our unique fiber optic sensing product portfolio.
Overall, the 15th anniversary edition of Medtec China did not go unnoticed with celebration activities, more than 450 exhibitors from 23 countries around the world and an overall growth of the event by 21%. An on-site exhibition theater and different conferences on “Regulations, quality and technology” complemented the event. Bram Van Hoe (FBGS) contributed to the Technology track of the conference with a talk entitled “Tailored Draw Tower Gratings in MultiCore Fiber enabling unobtrusive and passive curvature, shape and force sensing solutions”. The audience was walked through the basic concepts of fiber optic sensing, fiber Bragg gratings and associated advantages and was introduced to FBGS’ groundbreaking shape sensing solutions.
