FBGS has successfully concluded on their first participation at BIOS Expo 2016 (235 companies), which is the largest biomedical optics and biophotonics exhibition. In addition, they had their regular booth at the Photonics West Exhibition (1,300 companies); the flagship event for companies in photonics industry. Both are part of the SPIE Photonics West 2016 Conferences & Exhibition (~20,000 attendees), which took place at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, California. During the event, two live product demonstrations representing FBGS’s latest technological advancement in their marque draw-tower grating (DTG®) sensors attracted an encouraging flow of inquisitors and prospects to their booths. One demonstration presented, in real time, the feasibility of a DTG®-based dynamic 3D curvature sensing with a miniaturized single strand optical fiber, while the other one revealed the ability to independently measure local strain and temperature using a Polarization Maintaining (PM) fiber with inscribed DTG®s. While the curvature sensing setup was carried out with the FBGS’s FBG-scan 804D interrogator platform, the strain- independent temperature measurement took advantage of the newly released high resolution and high speed FAZtech’s I4 interrogator, where FBGS is the exclusive provider for biomedical applications. FBGS welcomes all inquiries related to the exhibited demonstrations and the standard product offerings as listed on their website at (www.FBGS.com).
