FBGS Technologies and 20 other partners from high-tech specialty fiber-optic-based companies and research institutions are gaining the financial support from the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) for the next three year starting this January.  The consortium  within the Thuringian region in the optics valley of Germany is to receive 10M€ to develop innovative fiber optic technologies for new light sources, sensors and illumination systems that will impact diverse industries worldwide.

Specifically, FBGS in collaboration with the other partners is leading the optical fiber sensing front with its multicore fiber (MCF) sensors and sensing systems based on the draw-tower grating (DTG®) platform.   These products will be uniquely geared towards crucial minimally-invasive medical applications to support shape and force sensing.  For more information, please see here or follow this link.
