FBGS are working with National Instruments to promote optical sensing within the test and measurement industry. This has been demonstrated at the recent National Instruments Week conference that took place in Austin Texas, 6th – 10th August.

Our draw tower gratings (DTG’s) were attached to the underside of a footbridge and with the National Instruments PXI device, was positioned in a high traffic area for visitors entering the exhibition hall to walk over and be able to see the strain acting on the bridge sections. Naturally, this caused some good humoured banter with reference made to the on-site catering!
