What is the Minimum Bend Radius of the Fiber?

In general, the optical fiber can withstand a tighter bend radius (R) before a permanent damage or breaking occurs, if its outer diameter is smaller. For example;

125 µm (cladding)/195 µm (ORMOCER®-coated)

R > 6 mm to keep the surface strain level below 1%

80 µm (cladding)/125 µm (ORMOCER®-coated)

R > 4 mm to keep the surface strain level below 1%
