FBGS acknowledges another exciting presence at the well-attended (over 8700 visitors) Sensor & Test 2016 show in Nürnberg, Germany. The show constitutes the prevalent international platform that brings together the latest and most concentrated innovations, experts, and vendors in the sensing field. The FBGS booth, among the other 586 exhibitors that spread out in 3 separate halls, attracted an increasing level of interest from loyal customers and prospects, who expressed eagerness to explore the new demonstrations that highlight its marque Draw-tower Grating (DTG®) technology. Among the demos were:
- The newly developed Polarization Maintaining (PM) DTG® technology, which enables strain- independent and multiplexed temperature measurements in a single strand optical fiber. (photo on the side of text)
- A successful presentation of the curved 2m-long cold-bent glass-bridge structure with integrated optical fiber sensor network, which exploits the unobtrusive character of FBG-based technology. This measuring approach enables embedded measurements and allows the display of real-time strain and weight distributions in a variety of structures for industrial and commercial applications.
